Tonight we had a special treat, one of her nuses names is Ali!!! Yep, thats right! She knows Ali by name and is talking about how cool it is to have a nurse with the same name as one of her good friends. I also got a special treat and they were able to give me one of the more comfortable chairs that fold out all the way to a bed, so those of you praying for my comfort, thank you. I can not stress how much I love PCH when it comes to the fabulous ability to work with kids. Fome the magic wand (thermometer) to the hug (arm pressure cuff). They really have a way with kids!!! Here's hoping for more good news tomorrow. Thank you all again for all of the well wishes and gifts to help pass the time.

Another update
Today was a really good day!!!! A bummer that the Cardinals lost, but Sammy is starting to really improve!!! After writing the last blog entry (Friday) we had a major set back (Saturday) so I am so excited to say that today was again better. Saturday the fevers spiked again, this time up above 104, the highest it has been since we got here. It was not responding to the medicine she was given, so we had to use cold rags, and strip her down, not a fun process. They decided that the vancomycin by itself was not working so they decided to add another antibiotic, gentimicin. The fabulous thing was that about 6 hours after the start of that antibiotic we started to see an improvement. Today has been fabulous! Her fever stayed under 102, and she only had to get one "poke" today, which was nice. She ate two whole bowls of cereal, more than she has eaten in any one day since we got here!! Yay!!! Tonight starts no eating again though so she can be put under to get the picc line in. It means great progress, but also comes with it's own set of challenges. We have to have the picc line if we want to go home, but there is also a chance of that getting infected, which would start this whole process over again. Needless to say, prayers would be greatly appreciated. Here are a couple of pictures of Sammy during one of her better times, playing with a puzzle she loves to do.
