Our Three Girls

Last year I made a list of random things about the girls and wanted to do that again. These kiddos change so fast and it is fun to look back and remember their little personalities at different stages in their life :) First up:


Carissa Jane
1. This little girl is just born but already full of personality! She loves kisses and lets you know with an "I love you" coo that melts my heart every time :)

2. Her first smile was on Jon's birthday, February 10, and she only smiles when she is really happy right now, you have to work for it. Most of the time she just has this inquisitive look on her face like the pic above. Guess she is just trying to figure things out.

3. She regularly uses her head as a lethal weapon! She will just be still when I am holding her and then out of nowhere whack me with her head, and then cry cause she didn't like it. Crazy girl!

4. Carissa had no chance at not taking the paci. She has two older sisters who at the first wimper are sticking it in her mouth and saying over and over "Momma can't feed you right now" in a really high pitched voice.

5. She is always moving when she is awake. She rarely just sits there, but when she does she is listening intently.


Hannah Ruth

1. This little 4 year old is ALWAYS talking or singing. She is asking questions, telling stories, singing songs, and anythingthing else that involves words.

2. Her favorite songs right now are the ones she learns in preschool. She spent the month of February singing "Where is Groundhog" and her favorite color song "R-E-D red" If you have seen her in February at all I guarantee you have heard both these songs :)

3. She is very worried about babies who are left by themselves. She starts crying, with real tears and concern, when she talks about how Moses was in the river all by himself, or any of the Disney movies where a baby is left without a mom or a dad.

4. She can be a total spaz sometimes and just come and tickle or tackle someone at any given moment.

5. She is very much a mommy figure a lot of times, taking care of Carissa, and telling Sammy what is right and wrong.

Samantha Ellen

1. Samantha is my little planner. She always wants to know what we are doing next and when. When she needs money for something special for school, she is doing chores three days before so that she can have enough money when the time comes for popcorn, icees, store, or whatever.

2. She has the knack of a firstborn at driving her sister crazy sometimes. I guess all older siblings are good at that, but all she has to say is one word sometimes and Hannah is crying and telling on her. In that same spirit she is a teaser, but not overt like Hannah. She likes to play jokes under the radar, and when someone notices she just has this sly little smile, pleased at her craftiness! :)

3. She loves to draw pictures! She will draw 3-4 pictures a day of things both real and pretend. She also is very creative and will stay up late at night telling Hannah stories she makes up randomly out of nowhere!

4. She has a heart of gold, and wants to please everyone. She also wants her own way, and these two desires can clash and can cause a VERY dramatic scene sometimes when she is upset and frustrated.

5. She loves having sisters. She is absolutely in love with Carissa and wants to be near her all the time. She also loves having Hannah as a playmate and they spend most every waking minute playing together in one way or another.
